The "Bloemenjaarmarkt" in Groningen is the largest flower and plant market in the northern Netherlands. Held annually on Good Friday, the event transforms the historic city center into a vibrant floral paradise with over 100 stalls offering fresh-cut flowers, bulbs, and spring plants.
Keukenhof Gardens (Lisse) – one of the world’s largest flower gardens, open from March to May. Famous for tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, narcissi, and crocuses.
Queen's Day (Koninginnedag) , 27 April – a nationwide celebration of the Dutch monarch’s birthday, with street markets, concerts, and orange-themed festivities across the country, especially in Amsterdam.
Grachtenfestival (Amsterdam Canal Festival) , August - is a 10-day summer celebration of classical, jazz, and world music, taking place from August 7 to August 16. It transforms the city’s UNESCO World Heritage waterways into an open-air stage, giving emerging young artists a platform to perform in unique historic locations.
De Parade – a travelling theatre, dance, and music festival that moves between Dutch cities during the summer.
National Windmill Day (Nationale Molendag) May - is an annual Dutch event, usually held on the second weekend in May, when hundreds of working wind and water mills across the Netherlands open their doors. It is a premier opportunity to explore and see historic 17th- and 18th-century mechanisms in motion.
Heineken Regatta , March – an internationally known sailing regatta held in Sint Maarten, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
HISWA te Water (boat show) – the largest yacht and boating exhibition in the Netherlands, usually held at the end of summer.
Day 1 Amsterdam
Arrival transfer.
Day 2 Amsterdam(108km/1h30min) Deventer
Go to the world’s largest flower auction in Aalsmeer. Here you will find the highest-quality flowers - tulips, chrysanthemums, orchids, crocuses and hyacinths - from Holland and gardens all over the world. Take an escorted tour of the auction facility located in a massive 10.6 million-square-foot complex. Look for the 13 auction clocks located in five auction halls that are projector screen images displaying details about the flowers on auction. Continue to the Batavia Yard. Here they build authentic VOC ships. Continue to the Noordoostpolder and drive through the largest tulip fields of Holland. Last destination today is the ‘Venice of the Netherlands”, Giethoorn. Departure to Deventer and check-in at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 3 Deventer (131km/2h)Floriade in Venlo
Continue to Floriade - a global spectacle in which many dozens of countries participate. The park comprises five unique worlds: themed zones connected by wooded areas. Here you’ll learn about nature and find out just how important flowers, plants, trees, vegetables and fruit are in our daily lives. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the park from the 30-metre-high cable-car system.
Day 4 Venlo (92km/1h30min)Hertogenbosch
Drive to the first sight of the Water flood museum. In the afternoon visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans. This park is located at the Oosterschelde Storm Surge barrier and offers information on the nature and wildlife and lot’s of activities.
Day 5 Hertogenbosch (111km/1h30min)Keukenhof (40km/1h) Amsterdam
Today continue to Keukenhof. No tour of Holland’s flower gardens is complete without a visit to Keukenhof Park. Have the pleasure to see the world’s largest flower garden at Keukenhof in Lisse. Thousands of flowering shrubs, orchids, roses, Bromelia, daffodils and hyacinths are intricately arranged on approximately 80 acres. Spring presents the park in its grandest glory, when 4.5 million tulips in 100 varieties are in full bloom.
Day 6 Amsterdam
Transfer to Amsterdam airport.
