Day 1 Arrival Rome
Arrive at the airport and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 2 Rome – Perugia (210km/3h30min)
Transfer to Perugia – capital of Umbria and one of the local hill towns, and a city full of charm and history.

Day 3 Perugia
Perugia is the site of many festivals and concerts, the most important of which are the annual fall Chocolate Festival and the summer Umbria Jazz festival, landing the city to a chic and urbane atmosphere unmatched by other Italian cities. With our private guide we will walk along the city wall dating from the Etruscan age, get lost in the symbols carved by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano into the Fontana Maggiore and find ourselves fascinated by the many layers of the Rocca Paolina. We will go first exploring the different strata of Rocca Paolina or Paolina Fortress, the so called ¨Perugia Underground¨ which is located right in the historical center of Perugia. We then proceed to Fontana Maggiore and the Cathedral of St Lawrence. Once back at the city center, there will be a stop at the famous old fashioned but very traditional coffee shop for an espresso or a cappuccino topped with hand whipped cream. The afternoon will be free at leisure or further exploration.

Day 4 Perugia – Assisi (25 km/1h) - Perugia
After breakfast we will travel to Assisi, where upon arrival, we will meet our tour guide and enjoy a half day guided tour. During the tour we will see Basilica fi Santa Chiara, the Temple Minerva and the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, which is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual in Assisi. After the tour we return to Perugia where will enjoy a free afternoon.

Day 5 Perugia Cooking Class
After breakfast we transfer to local farm where will enjoy a cooking class, highlighting the history of Umbrian cooking and presenting the day`s menu. Be prepared to roll up our sleeves for hands-on preparation of a glorious meals. Enjoy the fruits of our work, and eat the foods that we just created, complemented by our wine and extra virgin olive oil.
After lunch our guide will take us on a truffle experience; we learn of the educational itineraries on the truffle track; fascinating and unique experience to discover the mysterious world of the truffle. The guided visit is run by experts, who will take us through the entire itinerary from demonstration of the truffle hunting with the trained dogs, the digging up of the truffle to its processing and use in cooking, and teaching us how to distinguish and taste its different varieties. We also tour the farm and visit small museum and taste cooked dishes with local wine tasting. After the tour we transfer back to our hotel in Perugia

Day 6 Perugia Wine Tour
Today we meet our local guide and enjoy half day wine tour. In the renowned region of Sagrantino, just outside the city , we will visit the winery and the oil mill and enjoy tastings of local wines, extra virgin oil and traditional food. See how oil is produced in the oil mill, enter the cellar and admire in silence as the prestigious Sagrantino wine ¨rests¨in wooden barrels. At the end we can taste the productions in the warm and welcoming tasting area. We get to try four types of wine, extra virgin olive oil and traditional Umbrian dishes; three types of bruchetta, local salami, homemade pizza and delicious Umbrian cheeses and typical desserts of the region. We will also tour the vineyards and have time to photograph the ancient olive trees. After the tour, transfer back to Perugia where we will enjoy some free time

Day 7 Perugia – Spoleto ( 60km/1h30min) – Fonti del Clitunno ( 10km/15min) – Trevi ( 15km/15min) – Foligno ( 10km/15min)-Spello (10km/15min) – Perugia ( 30km/1h)
Today we depart for Spoleto. Upon arrival we meet our local guide and enjoy a two hour guided tour. From the ruins of Roman temples to masterpieces of Renaissance painting that decorate the city cathedral, Spoleto is home to more than 2, 000 years of history ripe for exploring. Learn about the city`s rich modern-day culture as the host of the annual Festival dei Due Mondi. After the tour, we return to Perugia, on the way stopping at Fonti del Clitunno Park, Trevi, Foligno and Spello, where we enjoy some free time to explore the cities.

Day 8 Perugia – Todi ( 45km/1h) – Orvieto ( 40km/1h) – Perugia (75km/2h)
After breakfast we transfer to Todi where we will enjoy some time to visit the Cathedral of Saint Mary or just wander at leisure in the old tow. Afterwards, proceed to Orvieto where we will enjoy a two hour guided tour. Admire views over the beautiful Paglia Valley, and then head beneath the volcanic rock to explore the city`s underground network of wine cellars and ancient Etruscan cisterns. No tour would be complete without a visit to the magnificent and famous Orvieto Cathedral, considered to be one of the most important in Europe and home to a fascinating collection of artefacts. After the tour transfer back to Perugia

Day 9 Perugia – Bari ( 550km/7h)
After breakfast check out of the hotel and transfer to Bari. On the way, stop in San Benedetto del Tronto for lunch. Upon arrival to Bari, the remainder of the day will be free at leisure

Day 10 Bari
Meet a local guide this morning and enjoy half day guided tour. Our tour begins visiting the main attractions of the old town such as the Basilica of Saint Nicholas with its precious crypt, the ancient Cathedral of Saint Sabinus and the millenary Swabian Castle. The tour continues discovering the modern French part of the city along the famous sea side, with its fish market, opera, theatres and luxury shopping streets. After the tour we will enjoy some free time.

Day 11 Bari – Alberobello ( 60km/1h30min) – Matera ( 70km/1h30min) – Bari ( 70km/1h30min)
Enjoy a full day guided tour to Alberobello and Matera. Our fist stop is Alberobello, A UNESCO world heritage city. We will visit the town starting from the panoramic point where we can admire the view of the conical stone roofs. We will then proceed to visit the two historic districts: Rione Aia and Rione Monti, where we can visit the Trullo Church. We will have the opportunity to discover how the Trulli are internally and how they are built. Before proceeding to Matera, we will enjoy a stop in Martina Franca, where we will enjoy the elegant and noble town through a guided walking tour, showing palaces and churches in rich Baroque style. At Matera we visit the Sassi before returning to Bari for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 Bari – Otranto (200km/3h) – Lecce (45km/1h)
A local guide will take us on a full day guided excursion to the stunning seaside town of Otranto, one of Puglia`s most vibrant towns, overlooking a stunning harbor recognized by UNESCO and names as one of the “Borghi piu`belli d`Italia ( one of the most beautiful and small towns in Italy) . here we will explore the charming historical center and visit the beautiful cathedral which boasts breathtaking mosaics and the skulls and bones of 800 martyrs. It is here that St Peter is fabled to have celebrated the first western mass, and also from where crusaders and knight templars left for the Holy Land. After visit transfer to Lecce for overnight

Day 13 Lecce – Monopoli ( 110km/2h) – Pogliano al Mare ( 10km/15min) – Bari ( 35km/1h)
We need a local guide this morning and enjoy a half day guided tour in Lecce, one of the jewels of Puglia. Our first stop is more than 2000 years back in time at the ancient Roman Amphitheatre right in the center of Lecce in Piazza St Oronzo. It dates from 2nd century AD and is a beautifully preserved semicircle that once held an audience of 15, 000. Next, watch an artisan at work creating the city`s traditional papier- mache art and then explore some of the gorgeous Baroque architecture of Lecce that has led to its nickname, “Florence of the South”. The best example of the Baroque style in the city is the Basilica di Santa Croce. Listen to our guide explain what Lecce was like during its peak artistic period, from the 16th through 18th centuries, as we admire the ornate facade of the church and then venture inside and the artistic area shifts to the less extravagant Renaissance style. Nearby is the 17th century Governor`s Palace, which was once a monastery. Visit the Piazza Del Duomo next, over which the Lecce Cathedral looms. From there we walk to a 16th century palace that is now a private museum with one of the city`s most beautiful secret garden. After the visit we will proceed back to Bari, stopping in the towns of Monopoli and Pogliano Al Mare. In Monopoli we will have free time to walk through the old center and the wall fortifications.

Day 14 Bari – Castel del Monte ( 60km/1h) – Trani ( 35km/1h) – Bari ( 55km/1h)
Begin the day by exploring the amazing Castel Del Monte, one of the most sophisticated and secular buildings of the Miggle Ages and built in the 13th century. The building is a harmonious geometrical study, but this precisely planned, giant octagon remains a mystery in this day. We continue out tour with a visit to the award winning Tormaresca Winery, set in an impressive “Masseria” with a view of the vineyards. We will continue the day by exploring Trani. During the Middle Ages this small, lively whitewashed port of Jewish origin bustled with mercantile activity and was filled with merchants and traders. Today one of the highlights of our visit is the majestic Duomo built between 1159-1186 and beautifully situated on the sea front. After the visit, return to Bari for dinner and overnight

Day 15 Bari – Amalfi ( 260km/4h30min)
Today we depart for Amalfi. Upon arrival we meet our local guide and take a half day tour. Visit the remarkable Duomo di Sant`Andrea and enjoy exploring the namesake village of the Amalfi Coast. After the tour, we check-in in our hotel at Amalfi for dinner and overnight

Day 16 Amalfi Coast tour
Today we will enjoy beautiful scenery and visit to the towns of Ravello and Positano on our tour of the Amalfi Coast. After the tour we return to our hotel in Amalfi.

Day 17 Amalfi – Sorrento – Capri – Sorrento ( Ferry) - Amalfi ( 30km/1h)
After breakfast we depart from the hotel and transfer to Sorrento, where will board a hydrofoil to the beautiful isle of Capri. Upon arrival to Capri we meet our local guide and enjoy a half day guided tour. Visit Anacapri landmarks such as Monte Solaro and Villa San Michele and enjoy free time for further independent sightseeing and time to shop for souvenirs in Capri town. In the late afternoon return by high-speed ferry to Sorrento from where we will return to hotel in Amalfi.

Day 18 Amalfi – Pompeii – Amalfi ( 40km/1h)
We travel to Pompeii today, where upon arrival, we will enjoy a three hour guided tour. During this tour of the sprawing archaeological site we will learn how Mt Vesuvius leveled the Roman city in 79 AD. After the tour we return to Amalfi.

Day 19 Amalfi
Today is free day in Amalfi

Day 20 Amalfi – Rome ( 280km/5h)
This morning depart Amalfi for Rome. Upon arrival we check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Rome.

Day 21 Rome
Today we will enjoy full day guided tour of Rome with our local guide. We commence our tour with a visit to the Colosseum and explore the massive Amphitheatre, learning about its history as a source of entertainment for ancient Roman citizens. Discover the Capitol Hill, the actual site of the Mayor of Rome, and offering the most beautiful view of the Roman Forum. We then have the opportunity to visit Palatine Hill, the place of foundation of Rome and the Roman Forum from inside and then proceed to visit Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps alongside Santa Maria della Pace. Our tour will end with a visit to St Peter`s Square and St Peter`s Basilica. Overnight in Rome

Day 22 Rome Departure
Departure transfer to airport for flight back home.
