Parma Tuscany Cinque Terre Tour

Milan - Romagnola - Borgotaro - Ponremoli - Lunigiana - Pontremoli - Sarzana - Lerici - Cinque Terre - Portovenere - Lerici - Milan

Day 1 Milano
Arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Milano – Romagnola (80km/1,30h)
Start the tour with a tasty lunch at a popular trattoria. Enjoy a menu which showcases the famous cuisine of Milano. After lunch visit the cathedral and its fabulous marble baptistery. Continue south to Borgo Casale, your luxury hotel nestled in the Romagnola hills, encircled by the peaks of the Apennines. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight.

Day 3 Romagnola – Borgotaro (210km/3h)
Today learn how parmesan cheese is made when you visit a local producer. Then drive high into the hills, on the border with Liguria and Emilia Romagna, for a fabulous ridge walk. In the afternoon visit the town of Borgotaro, awarded the accolade Citta Slow (Slow Food town),to experience the Porcini Mushroom fair before dinner at a delightful organic farm. Overnight in Borgotaro.

Day 4 Borgotaro –Pontremoli (30km/1h) - Lunigiana (40km/1h)
Continue to Pontremoli. Stay in a beautiful agriturismo converted from a 16th century hamlet, which overlooks the town. This is going to be your base for next day whilst exploring the Lunigiana, an untouched part of Tuscany nestled between the Appenines and the Mediterranean. Return to Pontremoli for an overnight.

Day 5 Pontremoli
The day is free to explore Pontremoli. The town lies in a strategic position on the river Magra and it was an important stopping place on the Via Francigena. The 14th century castle houses a fascinating museum of menhirs. Overnight.

Day 6 Pontremoli – Sarzana (40km/1h) – Lerici (10km/30min)
Enjoy coastal views as you walk to Fosdinovo where you visit the imposing castle of the Malaspina family. After visiting a small wine producer in the village you descend through vineyards and olive groves, past rustic farms, to the fortified town of Sarzana. Continue to the pretty coastal town of Lerici, once home to Lord Byron, where you stay for the night.

Day 7 Lerici – Cinque Terre (30km/1h) – Portovenere (25km/30min)
Free day with a boat cruise across the Gulf of Poets to the Cinque Terre. Opportunity to walk some of the stunning coastal path, swim or explore the lovely town of Portovenere and the small island of Palmaria. Return to Lerici for an overnight.

Day 8 Lerici – Milano (230km/3,30h)
Transfer to Milano airport for a final departure.
