Rome - Orvieto - San Gimignano - Monteriggioni - Sienna - Pisa - Florence - Cortona - Montepulciano - Pienza - Cinque Terre - Assisi - Gubbio - Rome

Day 1 Rome - Orvieto (130km/2,30h)
Arrival to Rome airport. Proceed to Orvieto. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, and the Fra Angelico Fresco, located in the Chapel of San Brizio. In the Cathedral we will see the Corporal of Bolsena, preserved in a rich reliquary, dated to 1328. Visit the Well of St. Patrick, built by the Pope Clement VII., during the Sack of Rome in 1527 by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. Proceed to our hotel in Tuscany. Dinner at hotel.

Day 2 San Gimignano - Monteriggioni (30km/1h) - Sienna (20km/30min)
Full day dedicated to the most famous towns of the region. Starting with San Gimignano, called the “Manhattan of Tuscany” for its significant towers creating its skyline. Proceed to the picturesque mini medieval town Monteriggioni, played a significant role in commanding the famous Cassia road in that area. Nowadays 44 inhabitants dwell in it. Our last visit for the day will be in Sienna, the city of the Palio (horse race). Visit the shell-sized Piazza del Campo, where the Palio takes place twice a year. Visit the plaza of the medieval cathedral. Back to hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 Pisa - Florence (90km/2h)
Drive west to Pisa, the former port city of Tuscany. Visit the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) that hosts the cathedral, its baptistry and above all – the Leaning Tower, dated to 1173. Proceed east to Florence. Start with a view from the Piazzale Michelangelo located on a hill above city. Dedicating the rest of the day to visit the highlights of the city known as ‘birthplace of the Italian Renaissance’: the domed cathedral of the city, Santa Maria del Fiore, the Campanile tower and the Baptistery nearby, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio. Visit also the leather market of San Lorenzo. Free afternoon to enjoy its artistic treasures as David of Michelangelo, Uffizi gallery, Bargello museum and many more. Back to hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Day 4 Cortona - Montepulciano (40km/1h) - Pienza (20km/30min)
Full day dedicated to small picturesque towns in Tuscany region, along the Chianti Road. Start with Cortona, mentioned greatly between the pages of Frances Mayes best-seller memoir – Under Tuscan Sun. Proceed west to the exceptional town of Montepulciano, sits on a limestone ridge. Proceed to the Tuscanian gourmet town – Pienza. Walking along the lovers alleys and visit stores offering an excellent selection of local cheese. Back to hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Day 5 Cinque Terre (train)
An unforgettable tour of the Italian riviera. Taking a local train from La Spezia to the first among the Cinque Terre – five coastal charming colourful villages – Riomaggiore. Take the unforgettable path of the Via dell’Amore connecting it to its sister – Manarola. Proceed in a train to the next pearl – Vernazza, the only current fishing village among the five. Terraces hung above it provide work and food to the locals. Back on the train and proceed to the resort of Santa Margherita. Take a local orange minibus to the narrow port – Portofino, among the most beautiful ports in the Mediterranean, famous also as the meeting point of some notable members of the local jet set. Back to our hotel. Dinner on the way.

Day 6 Assisi - Gubbio (50km/1,30h)
Full day dedicated to the green heart of Italy - Umbria region. Start with Assisi, well-known for being the birthplace of its patron – St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan Order. Visit the cathedral with its ceiling embellished with the frescoes of Giotto. Proceed to Gubbio, that keeps its rich cultural – artistic heritage. Visit its old city, including the Forty Martyrs square and its municipal buildings. Back to our hotel. Dinner at hotel.

Day 7 Rome
Morning departure to the Italian capital – Rome. Full-Day dedicated to the highlights of Rome: Vatican – St. Peter’s Basilica; Ancient Rome: Colosseum, Roman Forum; Piazza Venezia. In the afternoon – Piazza tour: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Fontana dei Trevi, Spanish Steps. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 Rome
Departure to Rome airport. End of our services.
