Rose festival- Rose valley, Kazanlak, beginning of June - the harvesting ritual in the rose gardens, parade along the streets of the town.
Folklore festival - Rojen, Rodopi mountain (June) - national music instruments and the famous Kaba gaida specially.
International Festival of Masquerade Games (Kukeri) - Pernik, end of January - costumed men with wooden masks of animals scare away evil spirits and welcome new life with the spring.
Fire-dancing (Nestinarstvo) - several villages, Strandzha Mountains, May - June - a barefooted dance on smouldering embers performed in front of the whole population by nestinars.
Day 1 Sofia
Arrival transfer.
Day 2 Sofia
Visit the Boyana Church and explore the National History Museum. Continue to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Rotunda of St George and the Russian Church. See the Banya Bashi Mosque and the Great Synagogue.
Day 3 Sofia - Brestovitsa (150km/2h) - Velingrad (80km/1,30h)
Departure to Brestovitsa village, a symbol of Bulgarian red wine. Taste the traditional wine, inherited from the ancient Thracians. Travel to Velingrad, one of the best balneological resorts in Bulgaria.
Day 4 Velingrad
Enjoy the unique spa experience and mineral water. Full day bio and Finnish sauna, aromotherapy steam bath, ice shock therapy and hot lounges. A variety of cosmetic procedures, including body therapies with honey, chocolate, milk, oils and herbs, coffee, hot stone massages and luxurious face therapies are offered.
Day 5 Velingrad - Shipka (180km/3h) - Bojentsi (50km/1h) - Arbanassi (60km/1h)
Departure to the historic Shipka Pass. Enjoy the panoramic view. Continue to Bojentsi, a village museum with a history of more than 600 years. Drive to Arbanassi village, a genuine gallery of art.
Day 6 Arbanassi - Lyaskovets - Troyan (110km/2h) - Glozhene (70km/1h) - Sofia (100km/1,30h)
Drive to Lyaskovets winery, famous for its high quality still and sparkling wines. Visit the Troyan Monastery, famous with its own production of plump brandy. Travel to Glozhene Monastery, found on a hill not far from the village of Glozhene. Back to Sofia.
Day 7 Sofia
Transfer to the airport.
