Barcelona - Villafranca del Penedés - Logroño - Elciego - Laguardia - Bilbao - Covadonga - Oviedo - León - Porto - Douro Valley - Lisbon

Day 1 Barcelona
Arrival at Barcelona Airport. Transfer to your hotel and free time.

Day 2 Barcelona
Have a guided city tour, including Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, where the 13th century Gothic Cathedral is situated. Continue to Montjuic hill and Plaza España, and discover Barcelona’s main highlight - Sagrada Familia. In the evening try the famous catalan cuisine, accompanied with some of the excellent wines of this Mediterranean region. Overnight in Barcelona.

Day 3 Barcelona - Villafranca del Penedés (60km/1h) - Logroño (430km/5h)
Today proceed to the most famous wine region in Spain - La Rioja. On the way make a short stop in Villafranca del Penedés - the capital of the catalan best wine region. Continue to Logroño, the capital of La Rioja region, a beautiful city, located on the river Ebro. Overnight in Logroño.

Day 4 Logroño - Elciego (10km/10min) - Laguardia (50 km/1h) - Bilbao (120km/2h)
Drive to Elciego where you will see the Gehry-designed titanium facility at the Marques de Riscal winery. Choose to have a guided visit of Ysios or Marques de Riscal winery and pass through the 19th century underground cellars. Next stop is Laguardia, an ancient, walled city with narrow stone streets. Here you should visit one of the many underground wine cellars. Next to Laguardia is located one of Rioja’s treasures - Ysios winery, designed by Santiago Calatrava with its outstanding undulating roof against the landscape of the Cantabria Mountain Range. Continue for overnight in Bilbao, the famous gastronomic capital of the Basque Country region.

Day 5 Bilbao - Covadonga (230km/4h) - Oviedo (90km/2h)
Drive to Santander, the capital of Cantabria region, after a short stop, enjoy the spectacular scenery as you travel through the Picos de Europa, a mountain range rich in flora and fauna. The region sits between two main pilgrim routes and has numerous historic market towns. Visit the grotto of 'Our Lady of Covadonga'. Here you also have the chance to visit the Basilica made from the pink marble of the surrounding hills. Arrive in Oviedo, the Asturias capital where you will try the famous cider which comes from this region. Overnight in Oviedo.

Day 6 Oviedo - León (130km/2h) - Porto (400km/5,30h)
Early departure to Porto, on the way stop in León. Arrive in Porto late in the afternoon. Overnight.

Day 7 Porto
Start the day with a walking tour of Porto, a lovely port town with baroque churches and tiled facades. Discover the highlights at Avenida dos Liados, see the amazing Palacio da Bolsa, and reach the colorful medieval riverfront of Ribeira, part of the UNESCO Heritage. Afterwards, enjoy a cruise on the Douro River, passing under 6 bridges, including one designed by Eiffel. Cross the river to Vila Nova de Gaia, where Port is aged in riverside lodges, and have lunch at some local traditional restaurant. Afterwards, visit Kopke and have a wine tasting at the most ancient of all Port Wine of foreign origin, founded in 1638 by a german family. Return to Porto. In the evening have a dinner at an elegant river-view restaurant introduces Portuguese cuisine.

Day 8 Porto – Amarante (60 km/1h) – Pinhão (70 km/2h) (Douro Valley)
Today drive up the Douro Valley to the Cima Corgo region, where the grapes are considered of higher quality and where is the heartland of port winegrowing. Make a short stop at Amarante, a picturesque riverside town. Continue the journey and arrive for a lunch at one of the best and oldest quintas, located on the slopes of the “golden” valley, looking down to the river. After lunch, have a guided visit of the vineyards and wine tasting at one of the many port estates here. Proceed for accommodation in Pinhão, the heart of the Cima Corgo zone and see the Pinhao train station, a masterpiece of art, created in 1937.

Day 9 Porto - Lisbon (320km/4,30h)
Travel to Lisbon and on the way stop in Tomar, one of Portugal’s historical jewels, an important center for the Knights Templar in 12th century. Visit the UNESCO Site, the Convent of the order of Christ and stroll around the narrow streets of the town. Later, proceed to Lisbon for overnight.

Day 10 Lisbon
Enjoy a full-day guided tour of Lisbon’s highlights. You first stop is in the historic quarter where you will see the Torre de Belém, as a symbol of the capital, this monument was dedicated to the rich age of the great maritime discoveries. Visit the famous Jeronimos Monastery, a World Heritage Site, the best example of portuguese Manueline style and Vasco da Gama’s resting place. Continue to the Avenue of Liberdade, see the city’s central park Eduardo XII, and reach the Baixa district with the Sé Cathedral and Rossio square. Pass through the elegant Chiado and Estrela streets and reach the impressive Comercio Square. Later, explore the medieval Alfama quarter and visit the Castle of St. George to enjoy the most breathtaking views of the city.

Day 11 Lisbon
Transfer to the airport for your final departure.
