Itinerary:

Day 1: ARRIVE COPENHAGEN (D)

Arrive to Copenhagen at own arrangement.

At 19:00 meet with Wedo Nordic Robinson representative in the hotel lobby for a welcome dinner at local restaurant. During the dinner you will get genereal introduction to the following days program and also to your fellow travellers.

Accommodation at the unique Phoenix Hotel, located close to the Amalienborg Palace, the old Nyhavn harbour and the pedestrian streets.

Day 2: COPENHAGEN (B, L)

After buffet breakfast at the hotel, meet with local guide at 09:00 and start a full day tour of the Danish capital. The day starts with a 2 hours walking tour of Old Copenhagen which will take you by the Royal Palaces of Amaliaborg Palace, the Nyhavn Canal and Christianborg Palace as well as the old Medieval city centre. Your lunch today will be a 2 hours amazing food tour where you will sample local classics and delicacies. After lunch we proceed by coach to see New Copenhagen with modern architechure design, pass Tivoli and inner harbour. We will stop at Amager Bakke (Copenhill) to see the innovative and newest city leisure and outdoor activities such as artificial ski slope and hiking areas. We carry on to Ørestad which is the newest residential area in Copenhagen where we will see some of the areas iconic building design by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) such as the Mountain, the VM Houses, the 8 House. Return to the hotel late afternoon and enjoy the evening on your own.

Day 3: COPENHAGEN – ROSKILDE - LEJRE - COPENHAGEN (B, L)

Start you day with buffet breakfast at the hotel before meeting with local guide at 09:00. Leave by coach and start driving westward from Copenhagen, through farming countryside and small villages towards Roskilde, which until 1417 was the capital of Denmark. Here you visit the imposing Roskilde Cathedral with its splendid twin towers. The cathedral was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 and has served as the burial place for the Danish monarchs for more than 5 centuries with Viking kings such as Harold Bluetooth being burried here.

Enjoy a Nordic lunch at local restaurantt in Roskilde.

In the afternoon we will visit the Land of Legends, an open air museum dedicated to Denmark’s pre-historic past where many Danes will spend their summers living like their ancestors in the Iron and Viking Age. On our way there, we will make a brief stop at the burial mound called Øm Jættestue for an inside visit – we will provide candles to light up the mound! Return to hotel late afternoon and enjoy the evening on your own.

Day 4: COPENHAGEN – RUNGSTED – HUMLEBÆK – HELSINGØR - COPENHAGEN (B, L)

After buffet breakfast at the hotel, meet with local guide and coach at 09:00 and depart towards the magnificent Kronborg Castle passing the alluring coastline nicknamed the Danish Riviera with its stunning landscape and luxury villas. Our first stop is the Karen Blixen Museum for a visit to the famous writer’s private home and her grave in the park. Proceed to Krogerup Organic Farm to visit the organic farm shop and walk along the communal fields where locals volunteer in exchange for vegetable and fruit. We then continue up the coast to Elsinore, one of Denmark’s best preserved Medieval cities where we’ll have a delicious lunch at local restaurant After lunch, we will explore the old narrow streets of the city on foot and see the murals depicting its history before making our way to the splendid Kronborg Castle, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. We will return to Copenhagen late afternoon. Enjoy the evening on your own.

Day 5: DEPART COPENHAGEN (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

 

Tip! This program can be connected to Oslo City Break by overnight cruise with DFDS, departing from Copenhagen day 5 at 16:30, arriving in Oslo next morning at 09:45. Supplement for overnight cruise applies
